Brock K Bakewell, MD, graduated summa cum laude from Washington and Jefferson College and earned his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College. He served his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Virginia and completed an Anterior Segment Fellowship at the University of Utah under the direction of Alan S Crandall, MD and Randall J Olson, MD. Dr. Bakewell has been in private practice for 31 years in Tucson, AZ, specializing in cataract, corneal, refractive, and complex anterior segment surgery. His areas of interest include refractive cataract surgery, LASIK, PRK and ICL surgery, as well as lamellar corneal surgery, repairing dislocated lens implants and performing IOL exchanges. He has participated in multiple FDA studies for high technology lens implants and has performed more than 20,000 anterior segment surgeries. He has written multiple book chapters and papers regarding various aspects of cataract surgery and has lectured both nationally and internationally on these topics.
